However, there are no clear data on the global distribution of resistance or its clinical effects. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the distribution of H pylori resistance to commonly used antibiotics and to measure the association between antibiotic resistance and treatment failure. Methods: We searched publication databases for studies that assessed rates of H pylori resistance to clarithromycin, metronidazole, levofloxacin, amoxicillin, or tetracycline. Results: We identified studies, comprising 66, isolates from 65 countries. Increasing antibiotic resistance was observed in most WHO regions.

Research Process :: Step by Step
A literature review is an account of what has been published on a topic by accredited scholars and researchers. After you've completed all 5 steps, it's time to write about your findings. The actual review generally has 5 components:.
A literature review surveys books, scholarly articles, and any other sources relevant to a particular issue, area of research, or theory, and by so doing, provides a description, summary, and critical evaluation of these works in relation to the research problem being investigated. Literature reviews are designed to provide an overview of sources you have explored while researching a particular topic and to demonstrate to your readers how your research fits within a larger field of study.
