The sensitivity of the Monte Carlo simulation of Kraft lignin pyrolysis to one of the model compound rate constants used therein was investigated. Experimental data and an a priori Monte Carlo simulation were compared by summarizing their results into sets of rate constant distributions, obtained by fitting the experimental and simulated data to a simple kinetic scheme. For the limited number of model compound rate constants investigated, the Monte Carlo simulation displayed very little sensitivity towards primary product formation, as its summarizing rate constant distributions were narrow and peaked. The increase of EV sales in Iceland is expanding rapidly as the Icelandic government is incentivising consumers to choose clean energy vehicles by offering subsidies. The objective was to pinpoint any weaknesses in the system and determine at which point the system became overloaded with respect to the line thermal limitations and the voltage regulation limits.
